Pebble Hills University Awards Doctor of Development Studies (Honoris Causa) to Mr. Mpumelelo Moyo

Pebble Hills University is pleased to announce the conferment of the Doctor of Development Studies (Honoris Causa) upon Mr. Mpumelelo Moyo of Zimbabwe, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to community development, humanitarian work, and sustainable development practice over more than three decades.

Mr. Mpumelelo Moyo is a highly respected development practitioner with extensive experience in strategic planning, resource mobilisation, monitoring and evaluation, HIV/AIDS programming, gender mainstreaming, and capacity building. He currently serves as Director of the Insiza Godlwayo AIDS Council (IGAC), a position he has held since 2007, where he has provided outstanding leadership in programme design, implementation, and community empowerment.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Moyo has held several key positions, including:

  • Board Member of the Private Voluntary Organisations Board under the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare (2019–2023)
  • Part-time Lecturer at Zimbabwe Open University (2015 to present)
  • Constituency Development Fund Secretary for the Parliament of Zimbabwe
  • Local Capacity Builder/Consultant with SNV/UNDP

He holds a Master of Science in Development Studies from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Development Studies from Lupane State University, and a Bachelor of Technology in Education Management, among other professional qualifications.

The Doctor of Development Studies (Honoris Causa) is awarded by Pebble Hills University to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, scholarly impact, and significant contributions to the field of development studies and community transformation.
