Dr. Kabba Franklyne Bangura (Hon)

Dr. Kabba Franklyne BanguraDr. Kabba Franklyne Bangura (Hon) is a distinguished Sierra Leonean leader, seasoned public administrator, ordained Minister of the Gospel, and renowned disability rights advocate. Born on March 6, 1971, in Freetown, he has dedicated over two decades of his life to promoting inclusivity, good governance, and the empowerment of persons with disabilities in Sierra Leone and beyond. A committed Christian for more than 30 years, Dr. Bangura serves as a Minister at the New Creation World Outreach Ministries (NECWOM) under the leadership of Apostle Siaka Abraham Kamara.

Dr. Bangura possesses a strong academic foundation. He holds a Master of Governance and Leadership (2022) and a Master of Business Administration (2015) from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone. He also earned a BSc (Hons) in Business Administration (2009) from the same institution, a Diploma in Development Leadership from St. Francis Xavier University, Canada (2006), and a Diploma in Business Studies (2003). In 2025, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity and Generic Studies by Abide University.

Professionally, Dr. Bangura has built an impressive career in both public service and civil society. He currently serves as a Revenue Officer at the Sierra Leone National Revenue Authority (NRA). He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Disability Awareness Action Group (DAAG), a national NGO focused on disability rights and empowerment. He previously held key leadership positions, including President of the Sierra Leone Union of Polio Persons (SLUPP) from 1999 to 2008, President of the Sierra Leone Union on Disability Issues (SLUDI) from 2008 to 2017, and Advisory Board Chairman of SLUDI until 2023. He also served as a Board Member of the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) and as a member of the Sierra Leone Constitutional Review Committee (CRC).

As a passionate disability rights activist, Dr. Bangura has led numerous national and international initiatives aimed at mainstreaming disability issues into national development. He has represented Sierra Leone in several countries across Africa, Europe, and Asia, and has implemented impactful projects in partnership with organizations such as World Vision, BBC Trust, Comic Relief, and the Liliane Foundation. His efforts have directly benefited thousands of persons with disabilities through education, rehabilitation, advocacy training, and socio-economic empowerment programs.

In addition to his administrative and advocacy work, Dr. Bangura is an ordained Minister of the Gospel with over seven years of pastoral experience. He continues to combine his faith-driven calling with practical service to humanity. A devoted family man, he is married and blessed with two children — a son and a daughter. He resides in Rokel Community, Western Area Rural District, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
