Engr (Dr) Basir Adewale Ikotun is a distinguished engineer with a wealth of experience in automation, mechatronics, and information technology. Born on 19 June 1970, he resides in Podo Village, Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr. Ikotun holds a PhD in Automation and Mechatronics Engineering from Commonwealth University, UK, and an MBA in Entrepreneurial Operations from City University, awarded in 2022. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Information Technology at the National Open University of Nigeria.
With a robust professional background, Dr. Ikotun has held various senior positions, including Managing Director at Leyland Technical Academy and Chief Executive Director at Automation and Engineering Academy. He has also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at First Technical University since 2020 and has extensive experience in training and mentoring within the engineering field.
Dr. Ikotun is proficient in PLC programming and has a strong expertise in electrical and control systems, fault finding, and automation. His roles have often involved project management, technical training, and budget preparation, showcasing his leadership and organizational skills.
In addition to his technical accomplishments, Dr. Ikotun is actively involved in professional organizations, being a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Institute of Management Consultants. He is also a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the UK and an Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
